NOT OUR POOL...
but this IS what happened last night...a certain very conscientious family member made sure to close the pool cover, but forgot to turn off the SLIDE so it ran for an hour or more before we realized it. The cover was it's own pool! My everything hurts from the bailing...I am NOT complaining mind you...I STILL LOVE EVERY SQUARE INCH of this puppy...but I do hurt from all the bailing. I am GRATEFUL that the water I was bailing was CLEAN...I was able to put most of it back into the pool. Not exactly what I was going to do with my free afternoon...but the pumpkins and the closet can wait.
WHO KNEW???
Who knew I would ever LOVE a book about the symbolism of MATH and spheres and geometry??? My brain naturally notices symbolism and comparisons, and has all my life...but to be pointed out to so many NEW insights and number parallels has been thrilling. Thank you Michael Schneider....I think ALL children would like math better if shown the relationships to their every day world.
THANK YOU PRIMARY CHILDREN's and SHRINERS!!!
Pam, Travis, Kaylie and Taylor have been here since Monday...I can NOT believe I did not get a picture!!! Taylor has a tumor on her ankle and they are going to remove it here at Primary's or Shriners' in a week or so...they left this morning to head back to Cascade....I guess I'll get pics when they come back. I think the girlies loved the pool ALMOST as much as me:)

28 September 2010 Note from Josh 99 weeks out...
Hey!!!!!
So mom probably thinks i am dead by now, because its Tuesday and i am just now writing. but we were on exchanges Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and then yesterday transfer week started. so i dont really have a lot of time because i have to leave in about ten minutes to go pick some people up from their bus and get them to their area. But this last week was good. We had to figure out transfers and that is always crazy. It took up the better part of two days to get done and then we still had to make the schedule for how to get everyone everywhere and buy the bus tickets and stuff. And then there was also a missionary that decided he was finished with his mission and wanted to go home and so we had to deal with him and he did end up going home this morning. so i had to be up at 4 in the morning for that. The last week was mostly just a lot of busy work until the exchanges.
Exchanges were good though. We didn't tell the people that we were coming until about 20 minutes before we went so all of the days were only half full but we did that on purpose to help them with their finding because they haven't been doing too well with that lately. It is funny how much somebody will complain about finding and just never do it, and then once they are forced to do it they turn to you and say "this is actually fun." I guess thats a lesson i learned early in my mission when i had companions that didnt want to do anything besides sit in the flat. but what preach my gospel says is true. "if a missionary works. . . then a missionary will be happy." anyways, i love you guys. i have to go but i will write longer on saturday i promise.
I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bizarre...
Makes me wonder WHAT experiences I had in my other life...but whenever I clean the bathrooms, especially the toilets, I am overwhelmingly grateful to have them. Its a whole head thing. I remember reading NOT WITHOUT MY DAUGHTER and just wanting to give THANKS right then and there that I wasn't born in a country with just a hole in the floor.....In college I dated a kid who took me to his friend's farm for a few days that still had an outhouse...got pretty clear on my life expectations that weekend. Anyway...dang grateful.
JOSH BY GOSH!!!!
Where are you babykins??? Your Momma is starting to get that "feeling"....please check in SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Cashore Marionettes
Clarke's treated us to dinner at Zuppa's and this night out at the BYU Pardoe Theater for Dad's belated birthday...it was MAGICAL!!! I never would have gotten tickets--even if I had seen it advertised...but I am so delighted that we went ...it was mesmerizing...my favorite was the end when he had the puppet crawl up him...
A thoughtful lesson to how someone took what they love and have made a life's living with it. He and his wife have traveled all over the US and many other continents performing since 1990. Too cool. He graduated from Norte Dame. Pretty intriguing. THANK YOU CLARK'S!!!! (You can YOUTUBE his name and see some of his stuff!)

Hi Lovey! I can't BELIEVE I forgot to write you last night!!! Took 98 weeks! Mostly it was because I have been so crazy busy with work...and right from work we went to this Marionette show at BYU with Shayne and JaLee (pretty awesome, I'll post more about it later), then we came home for a full moon swim and Jeremy and gang are here so it's been eventful. You won't believe how big the kids are. GRaham is starting to talk and super independent. Elle is the snuggle princess and Haven is so tall and SMART!! They are in there playing UNO right now. Jeremy really likes Logan and looks like they are there for the long haul. I am so glad that he and Preston will be there for you for school.
Cole Wharton heads to Chile on Wednesday so Spencer has been hosting the "LAST" ALL Nighter parties here...and the new Halo came out just in time for it. I got to spend a GORGEOUS day on the Payson golf course with Sam on Thursday...Spencer came too...still never having swung a club, I LOVE GOLF!!!!
The pool is heated to 90 degrees so it makes it still swimable even when its nippy outside. I am showing BYU 4 plexes this morning so I have to hurry off. Hannah Sanders is having her pool party here today. Tomorrow is Cole's farewell. 6 WEEKS BUDDY!!!!!!!! 6 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU with ALL my heart! I hope these last weeks are everything YOU hope them to be.

Butler's for Family Night
We BBQ'd and swam. Their Joshua knows no fear...what a fish! I've never seen anyone torpedo down the slide like him...we think it must be his swim diaper? We are so happy to have them back in Utah for good. Kristine is still up to her eyeballs in unpacking boxes. Joseph is HUGE...wish we had a better picture. Dave will travel alot with his work...guess we'll just have to keep them company. I kept watching how much energy Joshua has and I feel pretty convinced that I might just be too old for a 3 year old. But dang lucky to have Kristine who shares.

Josh.....18 Sept 2010
Hey Family!!!
This week was good. It was pretty busy with trying to get everybody in to Nairobi for the leadership training meeting and then back out again.and then we also had a missionary go home early for school yesterday and we had to send some people to Tanzania because their visa's for Kenya were expired and the renewals were denied. Which reminds me, when you get your visa's for coming here you will need a multiple entry visa for Kenya since we will leave to Tanzania and then come back. but for Tanzania a single entry visa should be fine. The Leadership Training Meeting went good though. President Broadbent did mot of the training, which was very nice both because we didn't have to prepare as much or worry about doing a lot of it when we already had to make all of the other arrangements, and because every time he gives a training the room fills with love and understanding.
We focused on three of the eight areas that were given to us in this meeting and will do the rest at others, but this time we focused on receiving revelation through the Book of Mormon, receiving revelation through the spirit, and the gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel of Jesus Christ was probably my favorite one because it really focuses on helping people to understand the love that God the Father and His son Jesus Christ have for them. But not just to understand that He does love them, but helping them to feel it constantly. and we do that by following the example that Jesus Christ gave to us and by doing the things he told us to do. The focus is to "Follow Him" in all things and at all times. With receiving revelation through the book of Mormon the focus was to just people to actually read it. If somebody will just read it, and pray about it, then they will come to know that it is true. That is a promise. From me, from Joseph Smith, from Moroni, and from God himself. Then with receiving revelation through the spirit we focused on qualifying for the spirit to be with us, by doing what is taught in the doctrine of Jesus Christ and following Him. It took two days for the meeting so this is super condensed, but it was a good meeting and i think we all came away with a greater sense of direction of how to help people to come unto Christ and to follow Him in our everyday lives.
The rest of the week was crazy with everything i mentioned at the top. and because of all of that stuff we have had between 6-8 missionaries staying at our flat with us since Tuesday and the last ones left this morning. Our flat is a mess and we are completely out of food and i am super sleep deprived, but all of that can be fixed. And will be within the next few days (maybe longer for the cleaning part, I am not feeling like cleaning much right now because in a week we will have just as many people with us again for transfers).
Anyways, i love you guys! i hope you have a wonderful week and that all goes well.
Love,
Elder Harris
