Letter from Josh 11Sept 2010

Dear Family,

This week was good. We did a lot of preparation for the leadership training meeting that will be next week. hopefully it goes well. The Broadbents went to South-Africa for a mission presidents training thing and so it is a bit hard to really plan and practice the trainings since they want the four of us to do all of the trainings together. it will be interesting, but it will work out.
There isn't a whole lot to tell you about the week though cause it was just a lot of reviewing the new materials that have been sent to the mission and deciding what needs to be trained on first and organizing for everybody coming in to Nairobi and so on. organizing events is a pain, there is way to much involved for what ends up being a simple meeting. i am confused as to why Megan wanted a job where all you do is organize events. i enjoy attending events, and even being a part of one is ok, but i dont like being the person running them. But that's ok, it will be over in a few days and then i can quit running around like a chicken with it's head cut off.
Mom, if i dont get a package on my birthday i promise to take myself and my companion to that all you can eat ribs place, on whichever thursday is closest because they only have the deal on Thursdays. and Sis. Broadbent already said she would sing me her "special" happy birthday song, which president broadbent said was some opera style thing that is pretty funny and i will make cookies and buy some ice cream. and the truth is i can do all of that for way less than what a package would cost. i can probably do all of that for what it would cost me to pick it up on this side anyways. You could send some cards or letters, but a package is a lot of trouble for you and i cant think of anything to have you send. the candy in the last one i got will last me through the time i get home anyways. Thank you for understanding, or trying to understand anyways. but i will feel loved and special that day i promise!
Oh, and i have enough clothes so dont bring any, i will probably need more once i get home (depending on how much of my stuff was taken by the brothers, and while i dont like it i am assuming most of it was taken) but dont bring any for me for here. and i would like to help pick out the clothes back at home, i will have enough for a few days at least. as long as i have some sort of hoodie cause i know i am going to be freezing in that good old Utah winter weather. and i would much prefer getting that brown american eagle hoodie back. i think i saw spencer wearing it last in the photos.
anyways, i love you all!!!!!!!!!!! have a wonderfull week!!!
Love,
Elder Harris
