Letter FROM Josh 3 August 2009

Hey Family!

This week was good, but it was definitely my last in Arusha because they gave me my passport, so i dont know exactly where i am going, but somewhere in kenya, i will let you know next week. I am going to miss this place like crazy! six months of my life and now i am just up and going and i am suppose to be okay with it. if there is one thing i have learned about myself out here its that i dont like to have just casual friends. either you are my best friend, or you are meerly an aquantance, somebody i will say hello to if i see you, but wont take another thoght about after you leave. I am going to miss these people like crazy, they are my friends, they have become sort of like a family, and i am leaving Elder Molotsi, who has been my favorite comp. but you gotta do what you gotta do.
We had a baptism on saturday. It was sweet. It was a guy named Douglas and he was absolutely golden. He was an investigator a few years ago in kenya but then moved here for work and didnt know the church was here until just over a month ago. so all throughout teaching him he already knew what was up and was living the comandments, he even had a quad already. i got to baptise him. when he came out of the interview he said "Elder Harris, i chose you to baptise me because i know that you are stong enough to lift me out of the water" i just started laughing cause he is a small guy so a ten year old could lift him out of the water. but a lot of people are scared of water here and they all freak out when we first step into the tank, but it went well and he was confirmed yesterday so things are moving nicely.
I also had another first yesterday. i got to name and bless one of the children here in the branch. i didnt think i would do that until i had my own kids. They are a cool family (the spear family) and the mom and kids that were old enough were all baptised like two months ago, but the dad who had been a member for a long time was excomunicated like five years back so he couldnt bless the child himself, but he comes every week and is active and you can see that he has a testimony. i am not sure what he was excomunicated for, all i know is that they are working on the papers and interviews and things for his readmittance. but i got to do the blessing for their girl. if i thought i could even come close to spelling her name out i would, but these african names are rough, its almost like a game to see who can have the hardest name to say, i am just trying to figure out what the prize is for whoever wins.
I cant believe it is spencers senior year, and i cant believe that sam is in high school. you guys werent suppose to change or do anything whle i am gone. i mean getting a hot tub was ok cause i can use that when i get home. but all of this getting older stuff and changing and what not wasnt part of the plan. and mom, if you dont want to run this marathon i am ok with that, just as long as you will still do the disney world one with me when i get home.
anyways, i love you soooooooooooooo much! i miss you all and i hope you are having a great time with all the stuff you are doing.

Yours truly,
Elder Tabo

P.S. Tabo means happiness, Elder Molotsi said that should be my African name, but good luck saying it right becasue it is zulu and the T makes one of the clicky noises, i am getting a bit better at that, but not much because they dont speak it here, only in south africa.
P.S.S. dont forget to put the cd with all of the pictures i have sent to you in the package, some of the other missionarys wanted some of them and now that you have my card i have no way to get them the pics unless you send the cd.
